“Close to My Heart” Pop-Up Card: Debut Novel Dedication
The opening dedication poem “Close to My Heart” in the debut novel MANY OPTIONS AROUND THE WORLD took shape as an original concept. After writing a poem to honor all of the cultural and personal gifts received from the woman inspiring this book, an illustration of her was added in the center of the card and later developed in pop-up form. Then, the idea to include the audio reading of the poem “Close to My Heart” in the print pop-up card was puzzled out with some thought and engineering!
“Ode to Philadelphia” Pop-Up Card: Hometown Celebration
With Chapter 1: Philadelphia from MANY OPTIONS AROUND THE WORLD focusing on many of the cultural riches experienced throughout the years, the pop-up card displays original images of Independence Hall and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Along with the “Love” sculpture and other treasures, the poem highlights the city’s positive qualities for residents and visitors. An enhanced version of the “Ode to Philadelphia” print pop-up card features an audio reading of the poem.
Unique Format for Debut Novel: Blending Book Arts With Spoken Word Readings
A recent interest in book arts and spoken word readings inspired the development of the print pop-up cards and chapter introductions in special editions. Artsphoria Publishing created these unique elements as a way to give books for adults new life and shape.
