Like many writers, I focused on my most cherished experiences and memories while writing Chapter 2: Atlantic City in Artsphoria Publishing’s debut novel Many Options Around the World.
Summers at the Beach and Near the Ocean Provide Wealth of Material for Setting Scenes
Joyful childhood summers spent at the beach and near the ocean provided a wealth of material for setting scenes. Then, I extended my long-held dream of living at the shore permanently and operating a business—supporting other entrepreneurs—to fund that goal. Through the main character, Jenny, I delved into current revitalization efforts in Atlantic City through an imagined business association, along with some of the bumps members encountered while trying to deal with the pandemic.
The pages of Chapter 2: Atlantic City in Artsphoria Publishing’s debut novel Many Options Around the World took shape early in the COVID-19 outbreak and provided personal relief during the first lockdowns. As an outlet for expressing concerns and heartache about thee massive loss occurring at the time, this project also offered a way to support others trying to heal after losing loved ones.
Themes About Business Owners, Writers and Artists Incorporated Into Story
While incorporating themes about challenges that business owners, writers and artists face, this story also focuses on the power of special friendships in the healing process. After one of the women in this chapter experiences a tragedy, the central character demonstrates unwavering loyalty—a rare trait—while helping her friend get back on her feet.
In early drafts of Chapter 2: Atlantic City in Artsphoria Publishing’s debut novel Many Options Around the World, some elements were surprising as my pen seemed to fly across the page through another force. While reviewing the material, I decided to tone down the tale. I didn’t want to capitalize on “easy” shock value—particularly in my most carefree location.

Instead, I focused on the ways that true friends stand by each other and ease the healing process. The final print version is now available during the serial release of chapters in various formats.
